Think about how often you are likely to use your loft in the future too, as this could affect the type of ladder you want to get. Generally speaking the more you will be using it the tougher and more robust the ladder needs to be. Will your current ladder stand up to the job, or will you need to buy a stronger and more expensive one?
Another point to consider is whether you want a proper handrail on the ladder. Not all of them have these and if you feel a bit uncomfortable climbing the loft ladder you may be happier if you have a handrail to hold onto.
